The Simena site called Kaleucagiz today is a town of Lycia located in the seaside with the heights archaeological sites including a Roman theater and a necropolis. Opposite is the island of Kekova (known Dolichiste on the map) where was the ancient city of Apollonia. Today its ruins are largely swallowed up by the sea, due to an earthquake in the 2nd century AD, and to prevent looting of the archaeological site, any diving is prohibited by the government.

The visit is enjoyable to do on arriving by boat at sea for Demre.
